Important information for Yaz users!

If you or a loved one has used any of the following birth control methods Yaz, Yasmin or Ocella please pass this on to them as there has been a large settlement released for those who have.

Yaz is a popular birth control pill which has been linked to serious injuries such as:

  • migraines
  • blood clots
  • heart attack
  • stroke
  • kidney damage
  • pulmonary embolism and death

Because of this there is a large class action lawsuit going on and if you have used Yaz in the past and had any side effects you could be compensated for your troubles and receive a check from the lawsuit.

The Yaz Legal Injury Center is currently taking information from people that have had ANY side effects from this med, so if you have go here and fill out the information.  They will take your info and if you meet the conditions to be included, they will contact you and let you know the next steps to get compensated for your troubles.

How to help Oklahoma Tornado Victims

I am sure you have all heard the news on the Oklahoma Tornado.  The news is devastating, 24 people have been killed and many many have lost their homes and all that they have worked for.  I know many of us are asking “What can I do to help?”

Here are some great ways on how to help Oklahoma Tornado Victims:

  • Make a donation to the American Red Cross by visiting www.redcross.org, calling 1-800-RED-CROSS or texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
  • Make a donation to the Salvation Army by visiting SalvationArmyUSA.org, calling 1-800-SAL-ARMY, or texting the word STORM to 80888 to make a $10 donation.
  • Make a monetary donation to the Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief. If you live locally, donations, such as bottled water, work gloves, boots, flashlights, batteries and non-perishable food (NO CLOTHES at this time) can be taken to News 9 at 7401 N Kelley Ave, Oklahoma City, OK.
  • If you would like to make sure your donations go more directly to Moore, Oklahoma supplies such as water, snack type of food, diapers, formula, wipes, children/baby clothes, canned goods, boots, hand towels, Gatorade and work gloves are being requested at this time and can be sent to the address below:

Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you awesome MOM’s!

I hope you all enjoy your special day!  Here is a great poem that truly signifies to me what being a MOM is all about! :-)

BEFORE I WAS A MOM

Before I was a Mom;
I made and ate hot meals,
I had unstained clothing,
I brushed my hair every day,
I had quiet conversations on the phone,
I slept as late as I wanted and I slept all night long.

Before I was a Mom;
I cleaned my house each day,
I never tripped over toys or forgot lullabies,
I didn’t worry whether or not my plants were poisonous,
I had never been puked on, pooped on, spit on, chewed on, peed on, or
pinched by tiny fingers.

Before I was a Mom;
I never thought about immunizations,
I never held a screaming child so the doctors could give shots,
I never looked into teary eyes and cried,
I never felt my heart break into pieces when I couldn’t stop the hurt,
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.

Before I was a Mom;
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn’t want to put it down,
I never sat up late hours of the night watching a baby sleep,
I never got up in the middle of the night to make sure everything was okay,
I didn’t know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.

Before I was a Mom;
I had complete control of my mind, my thoughts and my body,
I didn’t know the feeling of having my heart outside of my body,
I didn’t know that having something so small could make me feel so
important,
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache,
the wonderment, or the satisfaction of being a mom.

Before I was a Mom;
I never knew that something so small could effect my life so much,
I never knew that I could love someone so much,
I never knew I would love being a Mom,
I didn’t know the bond between a Mother and her child,
I didn’t know I was capable of feeling so much.

Credit Card Surcharge | 40 States now Allow Surcharges (Important)

Just a heads up to those of you who use a credit card!   Starting yesterday (January 27), paying by credit card could get more expensive. Under the terms of a $7.2 billion settlement reached last summer between credit card companies and merchants, merchants will be free to impose a surcharge on customers paying by credit card.  How large the surcharge is will depend on the merchant and could be anywhere from 1.5 -4% of your purchase price on top of tax.

By law, merchants intending to pass the cost along will have to post notices at check out informing consumers of the extra charge. Online merchants will have to post a similar notice to their home page. 10 states prohibits the surcharges so no need to worry if you are in: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Oklahoma and Texas.  Go here to read more about the new Credit Card Surcharge.

USPS: Stamps increase to $.46 starting January 27th

Just a heads up for you all in case you have not already heard.  The price of the forever stamps will be going up to $.46 starting Sunday (1/27/13).  So you may want to guy buy a few books of stamps before hand if you send out a lot of mail.

Highlights of the new single-piece First-Class Mail pricing, effective Jan. 27, 2013, include:

  • Letters (1 oz.) :  1-cent increase to 46 cents
  • Postcards: Increase to 33¢ (1¢ increase)
  • Letters to other international destinations: Increase to $1.10 (5¢ increase)

Giving Food to the Homeless

This time of year is a wonderful time to reflect on what we do have and the blessings we have received.  I know many are struggling and may have been laid off from their job, fighting an illness or having other issues with family.  However if we stop and look around there are people who do have it worse and are praying for the things that you have.  Even if you do not have a penny to spare I would encourage you to go to the Hunger Site and a simple click will donate food to those who have none.

This is something that you could also do with your children and can be done each day to help others when you having nothing to spare.

Be Back Tomorrow…..

In light of the occurrences today I have tried focusing on writing and bringing you all more deals however my heart is broken as I know many of you are feeling the same today.  I am taking the rest of the day off.

Please take the rest of the day and go hug your babies, tell them how much you love them.  Please keep these families and the children at Sandy Hook Elementary who saw the scenes they saw today in your prayers.  I cannot imagine ….those little babies were so looking forward to Christmas and had such joy in their hearts.

Please know you have our continued prayers for strength and healing.
